Gran Canaria · Private guided excursions
Questions, answered.
Everything you need to know before booking a private day exploring the island — from pick-up to payment.
Before you dive in: these excursions are private, fully customised tours for up to 4 people. If your question isn't answered below, just reach out directly — I'm happy to help.
My excursions are open to all ages and don't require any particular level of fitness. However, they do involve walking on varied terrain — uneven paths, slopes, and pavements. Unfortunately, they are not suitable for wheelchair users or people with very limited mobility. If in doubt, feel free to contact me before booking and we'll see together what's possible.
To make the most of your day, I recommend bringing: a sun hat, sunscreen (SPF 50 minimum), sunglasses, mineral water — a small bottle is provided per passenger — and comfortable walking shoes. Also bring a light sweater or sweatshirt: some excursions climb to nearly 2,000 metres in altitude, and it can be noticeably cooler there than by the coast, even in summer. In winter, temperatures can drop below 10°C at certain mountain sites. Gran Canaria is an island, and the weather can change quickly.
Yes, I come and pick you up directly from your hotel or residence. Depending on parking availability, I'll either wait for you at reception or on the street in front of your accommodation. Pick-ups are only available from hotels or residences — no street pick-up points will be accepted.
Gran Canaria enjoys an exceptional climate, and truly bad days are extremely rare — in several years of activity, I have never had to cancel an excursion for this reason. A light, fine rain, which is rare on the island, is not grounds for cancellation. However, in the event of genuinely unfavourable weather conditions — a storm or a situation that's dangerous for safety — I will contact you the day before to offer to reschedule your excursion to another date. If rescheduling isn't possible, the excursion will be cancelled and fully refunded.
Not at all! I'm vegetarian myself, so I'm particularly attentive to this. At lunchtime, I'll guide you to local restaurants offering tasty, authentic vegetarian dishes. Gran Canaria has plenty of options, and you won't have any trouble finding something delicious to enjoy!
No need to worry! Legislation in the Canary Islands requires all restaurants to have the full list of allergens in their dishes available on request. At lunchtime, we'll check this list together to make sure your meal is completely safe. Just remember to let me know about your allergies when you book.
It's very simple! Here are the steps:
- You contact me by email or through the contact form to share your preferences and check my availability.
- I send you the detailed programme for your excursion as a PDF, along with a secure payment link (valid for 48 hours) to pay the booking deposit.
- Once I receive the deposit, I send you your official confirmation along with my photo, so you can easily recognise me. I'll also ask you for a photo of your group via WhatsApp.
- Three days before the excursion, I send you a new payment link for the balance, to be paid no later than 48 hours before departure.
- On the day, I'll be at the pick-up location at the agreed time, ready to show you Gran Canaria!
My excursions are limited to a maximum of 4 people, which guarantees a truly private and personalised experience. I also accept bookings for a single person — a wonderful way to experience Gran Canaria at your own pace! The rate for 1 person isn't shown on the website, so please contact me directly for a personalised quote.
Yes, my excursions are available all year round. Gran Canaria enjoys an exceptional climate with over 300 days of sunshine a year, making it an ideal destination whatever the season. A few important notes:
- I prefer weekdays (Monday to Friday), as roads and sites are less crowded, parking is easier, and the overall experience is more enjoyable. Weekend excursions remain possible if no other date suits you.
- Some tours have specific days to avoid, as certain sites or museums may be closed.
- I don't offer instant confirmation: I always check my availability and make sure there are no local festivals that could disrupt the programme before confirming your booking.
Lunch is not included in the price of the excursion. The lunch break takes place at charming, accessible, typical local restaurants — a great opportunity to discover authentic Canarian cuisine without breaking the bank. Each guest pays directly for their own meal at the restaurant.
Absolutely! In fact, that's the core principle of my excursions. Each itinerary is built around your interests, preferences, and pace. Want to spend more time in a particular village, skip certain types of sites, or add a special stop? Just let me know when you get in touch, and we'll build the perfect programme for you together.
I pick up my clients directly from their hotel or residence, in any of the areas listed on the rates page. If you don't see your location on the list, feel free to contact me — we'll find the best solution together.
Yes, I am fluent in both French and English. My excursions are offered in both languages, so everyone can fully enjoy the visit and the commentary throughout the day.
Payment is made online by card via a secure SumUp link that I send you by email. Full details of the payment process are explained in the question "How does the booking process work?"
Yes, a deposit is required to confirm your booking. All the details about the deposit and the balance payment are explained in the question "How does the booking process work?"
It's very simple! As soon as I receive your deposit, I send you my photo in the confirmation email so you can easily recognise me on the day. In return, I'll ask you to send me a photo of your group via WhatsApp — that way, we can recognise each other without any stress at pick-up!
My excursions are private car tours with stops and short walks. I don't offer hiking (senderismo) activities. If hiking is your priority, I recommend contacting a licensed hiking guide. That said, Roque Nublo remains one of Gran Canaria's must-see sites, and we can of course admire it from the many spectacular viewpoints surrounding it!
